5 Ways to Make Your Big Day a Healthier Event

Many brides make an effort to be in the best shape of their lives for their wedding day. Of course, you want to look your absolute best for a day where all eyes will be one you! We have complete faith in your ability to achieve your goals for your wedding and we know you're going to look fabulous! But why stop all your efforts come the big day? Start your life together as husband and wife by making an extra effort to be healthy on your wedding day. Here are some ideas that we came up with:

  1. Do something active for your bachelor or bachelorette party.Check out some of the fun bachelorette party ideas we came up with last year, including running a 5K together or going away for a weekend of skiing and snowboarding!

  2. Go with a healthy "cake" option. Instead of the traditional wedding cake, look into healthier alternatives, such as cakes made of tiers of fruit. You can find some health-inspired ideas on our Pinterest board, Wedding Season with PGX.

  3. Limit your alcohol intake. We're not saying don't celebrate with a glass or two of bubbly! But try limiting your the amount you drink and you'll cut down on your calorie intake for the day. You'll want to remember your big day, after all.

  4. Go for a walk prior to the ceremony. Stretch out your legs and get out those last minute jitters with a leisurely walk with your bridal party or groomsmen.

  5. Stay hydrated. Try to keep a water bottle on hand or better yet, have water available throughout your wedding to all guests.

But most importantly, have an incredible day!

No more aimless walking in the grocery store. It's time to shop ourselves healthy!

I can't even count how many times I walk over to the refridgerator, stare at its contents and close the door empty handed. From there, I cruise over to the pantry and start inspecting it's contents!

The crave monster has just sufaced and it's forcing me to begin the hunt for snacks! All too often this leads to snacking on things like chips and dip or if nothing else, buttered toast (I swear I could live on toasted bread with butter and I would be quite happy!). So what can one do to prevent this kind of craving grazing? It all starts at the grocery store...

Check out this infographic and learn how to shop yourself slim and healthy! (Click on infographic to enlarge.) Don't forget to add some fibre into your diet! PGX can help control that blood sugar roller coaster for you ;)

Anyone can be red carpet ready!

Take inspiration from these celebrity workouts and adopt a fitter, healthier lifestyle!

It's award season (I realize I am writing this post-Oscars but no matter) and I'm finding many fabulous resources for new workouts! Also floating around the internet and flashing on our TV screens are images of celebrities wearing beautiful gowns and dashing tuxedos. I have to say that seeing all that glitz and glamour makes me want to exercise. I may not be wearing a gown for the Oscars anytime soon (I'm not ruling out the possibility either), but I don't need to go to an award ceremony to work towards feeling amazing in my clothes. Who needs a red carpet to be red carpet ready? Not me and definitely not you!

So what kind of exercises do these celebrities do to get themselves in shape? Everyday Health shares their workout tips and routines from ten famous ladies in Red-Carpet Fitness Routines and from ten famous men in Work Out Like a Star.

Everyday Health pulls inspiration from such famous names as Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston and Helen Mirren to George Clooney, Sting and Denzel Wahington. These fabulous fitness tidbits will give you and me some great ways to enhance our exercise routines!
