Functional Fitness: The workout world's latest buzzwords.
You've been hitting the gym and the difference in your endurance level is noticeable, while the definition in your muscles is becoming more and more evident. However, for some reason, your not feeling any fitter as you go about your daily routine. What gives?
It's very likely that the exercises that you've been focusing on during your workouts are not contributing to your functional fitness level.
What Does Functionally Fit Mean?
To be functional fit means that you've built strength in the muscles that you use to carry out every day activities, in the form that you would be doing said activities in. For example, try incorporating training into your workout that would help you while lifting a heavy stack of plates from your cupboard. Don't try to carry a stack as large as the one to the right though!
